LAN stands for Local Area Network and is a shortened form of LAN party. Essentially a LAN party involves networking group of computers together and playing games against each other. We do this every fortnight, bring our computers to the Planet Game Centre, link them up, and play games till late.
Wavelength LAN is hosted by our good friends at Planet Game Center. The PGC is located in the Royal Hobart Showgrounds in Glenorchy. Turn off Elwick Road into the showgrounds, enter through the main gates, and it's in the first of the three joined sheds directly in front of you.

Yes. However, we make no money from this. Planet Game Centre charges us $8- per person for a full day event for use of the venue. If you haven't got a gaming rig you can sweep up, PGC offers 10 PC's ready for your gaming handle for $20-. Whether your bringing your own PC or not, we think your still getting a good deal!
If you want to use one of PGC's computers, you won't need anything. Exept money and clothes. Well, everyone should turn up with those. If you brought your own PC, make sure you also have a network card installed in your machine, and a network cable. If you need assistance with these, you shouldn't have any problems finding someone willing to help!
When Lantastic ended in December 2004, I was left waiting, almost DESPERATELY for a LAN. I could have called it Lantastic, but I really had nothing to do with organising Lantastic, I didn't even have BadKarma's number, so I couldn't ask him for permission, so I called it Wavelength, the name of a webcomic I am a character in. After Lantastic was officially disbanded, I wanted to continue to use the Wavelength name, partly because Klingers had a nice shiny domain name we could tag along with.
The short story is, Were the same as Lantastic was. Same venue, same price, same fortnight, just a shinier name and a shinier domain :)
